A) As test-takers respond to "questions", a computer-adaptive
test "adapts" itself to test-takers by selecting the next
item to be presented on the basis of performance on preceding items.
Q) Why is Computer Adaptive Testing better
than normal testing?
A) The advantages of Computer Adaptive Testing include:
- CAT requires
fewer test items to arrive at a more accurate estimate of test-takers'
proficiency than pencil-and-paper tests.
- CAT allows
test-takers to receive immediate feedback on their performance.
- Each test-taker
is administered a different set of test questions enhancing the
test's security.
- CAT scoring
takes into account not just the number of questions answered correctly,
but which items were answered correctly.

Q) What
are Skillcerts assessments like?
A) Skillcerts tests consist of multiple-choice questions.
The questions are designed to test real world knowledge, as opposed
to academic or "book" knowledge. You can expect to see
sample code, images and scenarios associated with many of the items.
Each question has one and only one correct answer. The tests do
not penalize for guessing, so individuals are encouraged to make
educated guesses in situations where there is uncertainty as to
which answer is correct.
The actual test duration is 30 minutes with a pass percentage of
75%. You will be receiving questions of the test till its duration
ends. Each question has its timeout, which will be displayed at
the bottom of page. If time expires on any question, that question
will be scored as incorrect and the system will move on to the next
question. You will not be permitted to add or change an answer to
a question once you have run out of time. It is important that you
take the assessment without interruptions, distractions, or disconnections
because it could affect your results.
Skillcerts assessments are developed, validated, and reviewed by
professionals in each skills area. Skillcerts tests are delivered
as Computer Adaptive Tests (CAT). The difficulty level of the items
is adjusted according to the skill level of the test taker who is
further facilitated before beginning the test with provided levels
of:
This process
collectively provides two major advantages:
- Redundancy of questions that are too difficult or too easy
for the test taker particular skill level
- The adaptive
test engine produces scores that are reflective of the number
of questions answered correctly and the difficulty level of those
questions. In this way the true ability of the test-taker can
be more effectively assessed.
